Setting up your sign-in
1
An administrator invites you
They add you on User Management with the role that decides what you can reach. Your account is created in a Pending state.
2
Open the sign-in page and choose 'First time here? Set up your sign-in'
Use the email address you were invited under. A different address will not work, even if it is also yours.
3
Pick your own password
Nobody at the school sets it for you, and nobody can read it afterwards.
4
Confirm the emailed link, then sign in
Confirming and signing in is what moves your account from Pending to Active. Until you do, the invitation is only half complete.
If something goes wrong
'This school is not open for new sign-ins yet'
'This school is not open for new sign-ins yet'
New sign-ins are switched off for your school. An administrator has to enable them before anyone can complete a first-time setup. This is a school-wide setting, so it blocks every new member of staff, not just you.
The confirmation email never arrived

Check the spam folder first. If it is genuinely missing, tell your administrator — schools that have not connected their own mail provider are limited to a handful of messages an hour, and the rest are silently dropped. This is the most common cause of a stalled invitation.
You are signed in but told you have no account here
You are signed in but told you have no account here
You created a sign-in for an address nobody invited. Ask an administrator to invite the exact address you used, or set up again with the address they already invited.
You are told your account is inactive
You are told your account is inactive
Staff who leave are deactivated rather than deleted, so their history stays attached to the payments and marks they entered. An administrator can reactivate you.
Forgetting your password
Use the password reset on the sign-in page. It sends a link to your invited address, and depends on the same mail setup as invitations — if reset emails do not arrive, the mail provider is the thing to check. What you can see once you are in
Your role decides which screens you reach. A cashier who tries to open the fee grid is refused, and so is a class teacher who tries to publish report cards. If a screen you need is missing, you need a permission rather than a new account — see Permissions reference.Pupils do not sign in here. They use a separate portal with their admission number and a PIN — see The pupil portal. Parents and guardians cannot sign in at all yet.
